Forensics Consultant
Nick Craven
MS, CLPE, ABC-CC, CFM-I
Nick Craven grew up in Minnesota and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Spanish & Portuguese Studies. He spent the academic school year, 2006-2007, in Madrid, Spain teaching English. While in Madrid, Nick also completed a 300-hour course on forensic anthropology at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
In 2008, Nick enlisted in the US Air Force where he deployed three times in support of military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Qatar before leaving active duty in 2014.
Following the Air Force, Nick remained in Idaho where in late 2014 he began his forensic career working for the Idaho State Police Forensic Services (IPSFS) in the Latent Print Unit. Until the fall of 2022, he attended crime scenes throughout the state of Idaho, processed evidence for latent prints, and compared latent prints for ISPFS. He has more than 500 hours of training in areas related to crime scene investigation, photography, latent print processing, and latent print comparison. He is a certified latent print examiner with the International Association for Identification (IAI), a certificant in comprehensive criminalistics from the American Board of Criminalistics (ABC), and a certified forensic manager I.
In the summer of 2023, Nick and his wife, Erica, started a new adventure by creating C2 Quality Solutions, focusing on their respective passions. At the 2023 IAI Annual Conference he gave a workshop on screening strategies for latent prints during processing.
From late summer 2023 to present, Nick has been involved with the Department of Justice’s ICITAP as an advisor and trainer to Colombia (through the DOJ contractor Amentum). He is part of the two-person team that travels to Bogota to advise and train Colombian counterparts on latent print matters.
Nick has a Master of Science with a concentration in forensic science from the University of Florida and is currently a PhD student at the University of Lausanne (Switzerland) with Professor Christophe Champod. He is part of the ASB Friction Ridge Consensus Body and a member of the ASTM E30 committee and E30.11 subcommittee.
Apart from his interest in all things latent prints, forensic science, and data analysis, Nick enjoys spending time with his family. His family and he are avid board gamers.

Oral Public Health Consultant
Erica Craven
RDH, CDHC
Erica Craven is originally from Venezuela, where she obtained her Dental Degree in 2009. She has always been passionate about healthcare, education, and community service. In 2011, she moved to the US and decided to pursue her Dental Hygiene career. Since her graduation and for approximately 9 years, she was able to follow her passion for public health by providing care for the community and the underserved populations with Terry Reilly Health Services in Idaho. She takes pride in promoting Medical-Dental Integration and increasing access to care; while at Terry Reilly, she was involved in coordinating their Mobile Dental Clinic, and was able to provide care as a Dental Hygienist embedded in primary care.
In Idaho, Erica also served as president of the Idaho Dental Hygienist Association and functioned as a liaison between the Dental Hygiene Association, the Dental Association, and the Board of Dentistry to improve services to long term care facilities.
Since the beginning of her career in Community Health Centers, Erica has been proud to belong to the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA), and to attend most annual conferences. She was part of one the first NNOHA Teledentistry Learning Collaboratives, and has had the opportunity to present and coach other teams along the way. She was recently elected to NNOHA’s Board of Directors.
In 2022, Erica and her family decided to move to Florida. Since then, Erica has been working as a Project Manager for AFL Enterprises, supporting oral health tasks related to Teledentistry, integration, and quality improvement.
During 2023, Erica helped manage the Funders Oral Health Policy Group (FOHPG), a small group of funders investing in oral health policy solutions. Her company, C2 Quality Solutions LLC, now handles the operations of FOHPG.
Erica is currently the Oral Health Coalition Manager for Florida Voices for Health, where she is looking forward to integrating her knowledge and experience in dentistry, primary care, and community health, with her new skills in public health and advocacy.
In her free time Erica enjoys running, baking, traveling, and catching up with friends. More than anything she loves spending time with family playing board games, watching movies, and enjoying the outdoors together.
